Please meet your 2012 Miss Rodeo Oakdale - Allison Harman
I am truly honored to represent the Oakdale Rodeo and the Cowboy Capital of the World as Miss Rodeo Oakdale. I am the twenty-year-old daughter of Rick and Catherine Harman. My family calls the Triple H Ranch in Acampo, California home. I am currently helping manage the family’s six horses and three Texas Longhorn steers.
I plan on attending Cosumnes River College in the spring of 2013 and double major in Agricultural Business and Animal Science with hopes of someday working in the western industry.
My joy of riding came at the age of nine when I began riding Hunter/Jumper horses. It was not long after that that I switched to rodeo and have not looked back.
I believe that rodeo gives cowboys and cowgirls the opportunity to touch children’s lives. After all, a simple smile can often change a child’s day. I live by the words of Leo Buscaglia, “Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”
