California High School Rodeo Association State Finals in Bishop, CA

This week (June 8-13, 2014), about 300 members of the California High School Rodeo Association (CHSRA), will be roping, riding, tying, racing, buckin, cuttin, and having the time of their lives, at the Eastern Sierra Tri-County Fairgrounds in Bishop, California, for the 2014 CHSRA State Finals!

These 300 contestants are made up of the top 5 contestants, from each event, from each of the CHSRA’s nine (9) Districts (see below for CHSRA District breakdown).  The cowboys and cowgirls (the future of professional rodeo!) will be vying for the State Championships.  Additionally, the top four contestants in each event, will qualify to participate in the National High School rodeo Finals (NHSRA) which will be held in Rock Springs, Wyoming (Sweetwater Events Complex) July 13-19, 2014.

Please join us as we wish each and every contestant good luck as they give it all they have this week!  These contestants have worked all year within their own California Districts to earn the opportunity to go to the Finals!  This week, they will compete in: Barrels, Bareback Riding, Breakaway, Bull Riding, Cutting, Pole Bending, Saddle Bronc Riding, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Tie Down Roping, 22 Lt Rifle, Shotgun, and of course, CHSRA Queen event.
