There has been a host of community events/traditions leading up to the rodeo including the crowning of rodeo royalty. This morning, the entire Oakdale community will come together for the Oakdale Rodeo Parade. Congratulations to this year’s Grand Marshal, Vanetta Sipe. She has called Oakdale home since 1957. Active in her community, she has been a member and supporter of the Oakdale Saddle Club for 62 years (she was the 22nd member!). Naming Vanetta Grand Marshal was the communities way of saying thank you for all she does. Vanetta is also known, with love and affection, as “The Corn Dog Lady”. You will find her at the rodeo at her stand, where she has been for the past 50 years! Please stop by and say hi, and wish her an early birthday – Vanetta will turn 100 years old in June! Congratulations Maam!
Congratulations to your 2018 Miss Rodeo Oakdale, Sylvana Talamantes. We wish you an exciting reign! You can follow Miss Rodeo Oakdale on Facebook

We would like to take this opportunity to say “Thank You” to your 2017 Miss Rodeo Oakdale, McKensey Middleton, for being such a wonderful rodeo ambassador. We would also like to thank her for traveling to Lancaster, California, to present the Oakdale Saddle Club Rodeo Flag (as well as Circuit Finals Rodeo Sponsor Flags) at the 2017 RAM PRCA California Circuit Finals Rodeo. Never lose that smile and enthusiasm. We know your family, friends, community, and fans are very proud of you.
We would like to take this opportunity to once again congratulate Oakdale’s very own PRCA Cowboy, Ryle Smith. At the 2017 RAM PRCA California Circuit Finals Rodeo, Ryle earned 3 championship saddles and 5 buckles; He was your Year End and Average “All-Around” Champion, Year End Tie-Down Roping Champion, Year-End Steer Wrestling Champion, and he won the rodeo average in tie-down roping. Ryle went to the Ram National Finals Rodeo and just a few short days ago, won “All-Around Champion” at the Ram National Circuit Finals Rodeo in Kissimmee, Florida. Congratulations Ryle on an amazing year – Your hometown, family, and friends, are looking forward to this year!
