2013 RAM California Finals Rodeo – Visiting Royalty Information

October 18-20, 2013

Antelope Valley Fairgrounds

The RAM California Circuit Finals welcomes all visiting royalty and we appreciate and thank you for your participation based on the following:

  • You must be a current “Miss”Rodeo Queen from a PRCA Sanctioned rodeo.
  • You are fully responsible for all costs including, but not limited to, travel, lodging, meals, livestock, stalls, feed, and bedding.
  • You must conduct yourself in a professional and proper manner at all times, exemplifying an ambassadorship of professional rodeo, the RAM California Finals Rodeo, and the Professional Cowboys Rodeo Association.

Deadline for Notification of Attendance is no later than Tuesday, October 8, 2013  However, if possible, please contact Sandy Travis (see below) as soon as possible if you believe you will be attending.  This will help her with plans for Opening Ceremonies, etc. (Thank You!)

Note:  Any CA PRCA Rodeo that does not host a “Queen Pageant”, but instead appoints a Queen to represent their rodeo and would like for her to participate at the PRCA RAM California Circuit Finals Rodeo (CCFR), must notify the Showdown Rodeo, Inc., in writing, of the name of their appointed “Queen” and acknowledge they have discussed with her, the requirements and obligations of all Visiting Royalty found on this page.  In addition, said appointed “Miss Queen” must meet the Miss Rodeo California age requirements:  Must be 18 years old by December 31 of the year she will attend CCFR and not to reach the age of 25 years old by December 31 the year she will attend the CCFR.

Additionally, if a California PRCA Rodeo would like to send a representative (other than a Queen) to carry their “Rodeo Flag”, that rodeo must also contact the Showdown Rodeo, within the same time line above, with the name of the person that will represent and present their “Rodeo Flag”.   If you attend the CCFR to carry a flag, please dress in appropriate western attire as only current PRCA Miss California Rodeo Queens will be allowed to wear their queen crowns, sash, and/or chaps.

Again, notification must be made in advance of the CCFR for 2013 – letters must be received not later than Tuesday, October 8, 2013.  This “Queen Confirmation” or “Rodeo Representative” letter may be emailed by the concerned rodeo committee to Sandy Travis at [email protected] or send to mailing address:

The Showdown Rodeo, Inc., reserves the right to have anyone removed from the rodeo grounds that appears to be unsafe and or unruly. All decisions are made by the Showdown Rodeo Committee and are final.  Attendance at the CCFR acknowledges that you understand and will abide by all rules and regulations set forth.

Visiting Royalty may carry their home rodeo’s flag; however, it must be approved by the event staff at check-in time (TBA).  Committee flags should be no larger than 4 feet by 6 feet.  Your flag must display your rodeo logo/information only and may not include any sponsor, business, or other organization(s).  We will do our best to incorporate your rodeo’s flag as often as possible; however, the event and PRCA National sponsor flags will have priority.

Details are still being finalized, but if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Sandy Travis (see below for contact information).

From Sandy Travis:

This is a wonderful opportunity for our PRCA CA Circuit Royalty to represent not only the PRCA, but each and every rodeo in the PRCA CA Circuit.  All eyes will be on each and every one of us in the arena.  I would like to ask that you take extra special care to ensure your equipment is clean and in safe working order.  Ensure your horses are of proper weight, hoof care, clean, and with mane and tail brushed out and free flowing.  No paint, glitter, chalk, decorations on your horses please.  Please make sure your outfits are clean with all of your silver (including crowns and buckles) polished.  I look forward to working and riding with each and every one of you!  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me – Sandy

If your home rodeo would like to purchase additional advertising, or sponsorship of the RAM California Finals Rodeo, please contact [email protected]
